With a PhD from UC Irvine in Comparative Culture-Expressive Forms after a double major in English and American Studies for her BA, Diane Sippl has taught over 100 courses in Expository Writing, Literature, History, Visual and Theatre Arts, and World Cultures at UCLA, UCI, and Occidental College. She has taught every level of essay writing from grade school to graduate school, all the while teaching and tutoring for the ISEE, SAT, ACT, AP Language and Composition, and GRE exams as well as many others.

She loves the spontaneous rewards of tutoring one-on-one and in small groups with instant feedback and long-term results for her students, who have ranged from 6th grade to the university after she has guided them through writing their college application essays.

She herself is a well-traveled arts and culture critic whose essays are published non-stop in juried academic journals and in popular magazines.
