Mavin’s Inside Scoop on Purdue University
Mavin Learning Resources
We are pleased to announce our new webinar series, “The Inside Scoop: Meet the College Admissions Reps,” which will feature concise, in-depth interviews with local college admissions officers about what makes their schools stand out, and give you clear information about what they look for and what makes for successful student applications, as well as common mistakes to avoid so your application has the best chance of being selected. Attending these webinars offers you the opportunity to gain insight into the admissions process and ask questions to the people who will be reviewing applications when you apply to college this fall.
It is our sincere hope that by attending these webinars you will gain a more comprehensive understanding of schools you are already interested in as well as learn about new schools that may be a good fit for you to consider. Students and families are encouraged to ask specific questions during the Q&A period via chat box for a truly personalized experience. Don’t miss this special opportunity!
This week’s special guest speaker is Taylor Patterson, Assistant Director of Admissions at Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana. Purdue is ranked #57 in the nation and boasts one of the nation’s strongest engineering programs, and the distinction of having awarded more Bachelor’s degrees in the field than any other institution. Purdue is also home to the nation’s first computer science department, and its programs in pharmacy, nursing, and management are top-notch.
“Purdue is Indiana’s STEM university—with side helpings of business, health professions, and liberal arts. Compared to Kansas State and Big Ten rival Michigan State. Does better than most large universities in giving students hands-on opportunities such as internships and co-ops. Flight technology and aerospace—and turning out future astronauts—are longtime specialties.” – Fiske Guide
We look forward to seeing you then, and as always feel free to share this with any friends who would be interested in learning more.
If you are unable to attend and would like to receive a free recording of the interview, please send us your/student’s name, grade and an email address where we can send the link to our Youtube video.
